The origin lies in the production of Zinc Selenide (ZnSe) and Zinc Sulfide (ZnS) for the CO2 laser industry. Here II-VI Infrared offers an unmatched variety of IR optics - from the single piece to series production. Our optics are characterized by a wide variety of materials and coatings.
Besides the production of ZnSe (Zinc Selenide), ZnS (Zinc Sulfide) and Synthetic Diamonds we process Cu (Copper), Si (Silicon), GaAs (Gallium Arsenide) and Ge (Germanium) for optical components.
Our high-performance coatings in the wavelength range of 2-12 ?m reach from a simple anti-reflection coating to very complex multi-layer designs.
In our Near-Infrared Department, in addition to Nd: YAG many more interesting industrial crystals are grown: LBO, BBO, KTP, Nd: YLF, Pr: YLF and Ce: YAG, etc.
At Photop, our Asian factory for the UV to NIR range, we process these crystals to laser rods and -optics with coatings in the range of 250-3000 nm.
Our optics are in use in various fields: laser industry, medicine, image processing, telecommunications and metrology.
In the area of Protective Windows for welding applications, we are the world's largest manufacturer with an own specialized factory in Vietnam.
